Social influence is a strong factor in the decisions you make. You are likely to view an initiative more favourably if it is supported by a person you greatly respect.
Social influence also pushes you to prefer to act in these ways:
- Remain consistent with strongly held values and beliefs.
- Remain consistent with your prior commitments and decisions.
- Repay obligations.
- Preserve your reputation.
