Reference #449: Organizational Culture and Leadership
Every macroculture has assumptions about how individuals should relate to each other. These are manifest as levels of relationships in society, as follows:
- Level -1: no relationship, or a negative relationship.
- Level 1: civility. Often seen in transactional role relations.
- Level 2: recognition of the other as a unique person. A key example is working relationships (personal, but not intimate).
- Level 3: strong emotional attachment. Comprises close friendships, love and intimacy.
